Build the Perfect Dopp Kit with These Nine Essential Men's Toiletries

Long gone are the days (at least, we hope) when a man prepping for a trip felt like he was all set with toiletries when he tossed his months-old toothbrush on top of his clothes and zipped up his suitcase.

A travelin’ man with even a modicum of self-respect hits the road with a fresh dopp kit stocked with the essentials. When the space is finite, choices need to be made. So we’re here to give you a rundown of dopp kit must-haves, from potentially trip-saving pro-tips (pack extra contacts) to little tastes of luxury (we see you charcoal mask).

Reboot Your Skin With a Charcoal Mask

Before we get to it, let’s establish the importance of the right kit. If you tuck all your toiletries into a plastic bag, we won’t judge. But it’s definitely time to step up that game. Luckily, we have just the right men’s travel toiletry bag for you. It’s fresh-looking and just the right size — not so big that it dominates your luggage and just big enough to house all those critical toiletries.

Now, let’s open up that dopp kit and have a look.

We shouldn’t have to tell you, but back to that toothbrush. If you forget to pack that, you’re probably not going to have the best trip. Same goes for deodorant.

There’s a strong likelihood that wherever you’re heading will have bars of soap. But bringing your own body wash — especially one that’s charcoal activated — will make sure you don’t end up scrubbing with some after-thought hotel soap that refuses to lather.

Face wash is just an utter no-brainer. Use it twice per day. Whether you’re on the road or at home, just use it. Our charcoal face wash offers subtle hints of blue sage and citrus that will linger, but the toxins and other impurities on your skin will be long gone. Keeping this in your rotation is one of the surest ways to keep breakouts to a minimum.

Keep It Clean With Our Charcoal Face Wash

Because you’re reading this, we probably don’t need to spend too much time harping on the importance of exfoliation. (But if you aren’t exfoliating, just know that your body is dropping up to 40,000 dead skin cells every day, and exfoliating is the surest way to clear them from your face.) Our bamboo scrub will keep too much bad from accumulating on your trip. Use it every couple or three days.

Of course, we all know that travel can leave you feeling especially grimy — just try not to feel gross after a long flight. When you get to where you’re going, there’s no greater way to reboot than with that aforementioned charcoal mask. Fifteen minutes with this restorative mask and your travel grime — dirt, oil, whatever else that may have worked its way into your mug — is gone, along with your blackheads.

Whether your skin runs oily or dry, you need to make sure and stay hydrated when you’re traveling. When we’re en route and even after we reach our destination, most of us tend to ease back on hydration. And dehydration is quick to announce itself in your skin. So always reserve a slot in your dopp kit for moisturizer, ideally one that matches your skin type.

Extra contacts/contact solution

Not every guy’s perfect dopp kit is going to look the same. Not everybody takes medication. Some of us don’t need contacts and contact solution. But as far as basic skincare items go, if you roll with what we’ve outlined here, you’ll stay fresh during your travels.
