You’ve been doing battle with blackheads for a long time now. Perhaps it feels like an endless struggle—we get it. But it’s time you adequately arm yourself with the skills and knowledge so you’re better positioned to get the upper hand in the battle with blackheads.
Sure you know ’em when you see ’em, but how much do you really know about blackheads? A better understanding of the opposition will go a long way toward helping your cause.
Know Thy Enemy
Blackheads, like all forms of acne, occur when your pores get clogged. That’s why it’s critical to keep those obstructions to a minimum with our charcoal face wash.
Try Our Charcoal Face WashAs you know, there’s something a little different about blackheads.
Why are they black?
Well, bumps emerge when dead skin cells or sebum—the oil produced by your sebaceous glands—clog your pores. If those bumps open, exposure to the air turns the gunk inside black. If the bumps don’t open, the gunk remains white. Those are your whiteheads, another enemy you know too well.
Why are they so prevalent on your nose?
If it seems like your nose is the epicenter of your ongoing blackhead battle, that’s because your nose is at the heart of your T-zone, a sebaceous gland rich area that extends from your chin, up through your nose and over your eyes.
Your nose produces a lot of oil, but that’s just a part of the problem. There’s a size issue, too. As MedicalNewsToday notes, “…the pores (on your nose) tend to be larger than elsewhere. The larger size makes it easier for debris to become trapped, leading to acne breakouts.”
Defeat Thy Enemy
So what are you gonna do about it? First off, use that charcoal face wash twice daily. And resist the urge to pop. All it does is strengthen your enemy. Popping exacerbates matters by further irritating your skin and introducing more acne-causing grime with your fingers.

While we strongly urge you not to pop, we understand that we’re asking you to remove a pleasurable act from your life. There’s just something thoroughly satisfying about getting in there and letting them have it. BUT, we have an equally satisfying and actually good-for-your-skin replacement.
A charcoal face mask can give you all that blackhead-eradicating pleasure without all the damage of popping. All you do is apply it to clean, dry skin once per week, wait 15 minutes and then peel it off and study all the blackheads and grime it’s extracted. It’s how you scavenge blackheads without giving them the upper hand.
Check Out Our Charcoal Face MaskAn additional and often overlooked aspect of battling blackheads is proper hydration. Because when you aren’t moisturizing the right way, your skin gets overly dry, which kicks your sebaceous glands into high gear. And more sebum can mean more blackheads.
Keep your skin hydrated with our oil-free moisturizer for dry skin. It’s fast absorbing and won’t leave your skin feeling heavy or greasy. Apply it twice daily—after using that charcoal face wash—in the ongoing struggle against blackheads.
