Pretreat your ear with cerumen (ear wax) softener from the drugstore; water alone won't do it. This is a well-designed system in that the cup holds what the squirter does, so you don't overflow. The experience is very similar to a doctor/tech performing a flush. It's much safer than q-tips or (yikes!) a scraper. It's loud (duh, it's pulsing in your ear canal) and you are likely to feel dizzy for a bity afterwards, but it works.
